First Meeting 8-18-2011

Dear Heroes,
I'm happy to report that the first meeting of BOOMERS 'R HEROES was a success.  Our group was small, 3 attendees plus organizer, but it was helpful.  One attendee was in need of guidance pertaining to her final paperwork toward becoming the Tax Consultant she wants to pursue.  In talking with the other attendees, she was put in touch with someone who will help her reach her goal.  I'd say that's a success, wouldn't you!!!
Next meeting is scheduled for 9/1/2011, but it may change to a monthly meeting, so keep your eyes on the the Meetup site for updates.
In addition ,during the week of the meeting, information was sent to my Class of '68 classmates by Barbara Phillips, which brought about contacts with folks I haven't seen in a very long time.  Most of these contacts came from those living in other parts of the country and cannot participate in meetings, but are supportive of this effort.  I've received some very heartfelt messages about the loss of my husband and their friend, Roy.
I've also received some helpful information about other organizations that may be helpful and ties in with this effort from Mike Grossman who is in Philadelphia.  Thanks, Mike.
Carol Levin Schusman wrote and I found out that she's been through some grueling health challenges in the past two years and is still able to laugh about it.  You go, Carol.
I'm very grateful for the thoughtfulness of our friends and classmates.
Thank you, Heroes.
