MALT CLASSES ENDED ON 3/14

3/19/2012

Dear Heroes,
Thank you to my heroes' participation in the MALT class series.  I am so grateful to everyone's support and input.  This is a very important step for the group.  Beverley remarked that she was said that this was our last class and want us to continue having meetings here (NIM).  Hearing that from her was a great inspiration and it pushed me to take steps to continue meetings at NIM....at this writing it's still in the works...I'll keep you up on the progress.
The meeting opened with my showing the Boomers website.   This is the hub of Boomers 'R Heroes and important for everyone to be able to access it easily.
Today's meeting was focused on Fitness, our speaker was Estelle Crossley, a friend and supporter who is a senior fitness specialist.  Her information and suggestions were well-received and a lot of input from the group.
We also covered insurance needs, dos and don'ts, from Idalia Clark of Bankers Trust.  She had some fabulous information for the group and successfully acquired appointments with everyone to review their packages for investment advice for retirement prep and better insurance coverage.
Kathy presented her family's "Blue Suitcase Drill" explaining that her mom had her do this when they were young.  This drill insured that everyone knew where the "important documents" were stored so that they would be found easily under stress.  The information was received with open arms as it was so simple, but necessary.  Basically, know where all the insurance, burial, wills/legal documents are at all times to avoid confusion in midst of the most stressful times.
All in all, it was a great night, though, sadly,  it was our last night!!!
Looking forward to some great things happening soon, very soon.

Jean Kirkley
