I am very happy to report that our first anniversary celebration weekend was a success. Our meeting on Monday, 9/10 at the Lovett Memorial Library was actually a 1st anniversary line-dance party. We had a great time as my sister, Michele, conducted class with us instructing us as a group in some lively line-dance moves. We were on the move and everyone had fun. Two of my Heroes are having issues with the post-surgical healing of knees and ankles and they were up and moving, sometimes showing us some new moves. Nothing stops a "hero" from doing what they must to de-stress :)
Hero couple, Mona and Jay, made us a cake in celebration. Thank you for such a delicious gift. Believe me, it is delicious.
Chips, salsa, chicken nuggets, punch and cookies rounded out our munchies for the night. Just for the record, there was not a calorie to be found.
This celebration followed a Fundraising effort on Saturday where we had the Gold Party Girl, Mary Kay and Jeannie Beadies Exclusive Jewel Designs (the Boomers fundraising jewel line which I design and assemble) available for sale. It was a wonderfully successful affair.
Thank you, one and all, for your prayers and support. BOOMERS 'R HEROES is here for you.
